Sterile Processing Tech Location: Aspen, CO Agency: United Health Care Staffing Pay: $1,600 to $2,000 per week Shift Information: Evenings - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP

Job Responsibilities

• Decontamination: Disassemble, clean, and mechanically or manually decontaminate soiled surgical instruments, power tools, and medical equipment according to manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFU).

• Assembly & Inspection: Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality; assemble complex surgical trays and instrument packs using correct tracking checklists.

• Sterilization: Load, operate, and monitor various sterilization systems (e.g., steam autoclaves, low-temperature gas plasma) and document biological/chemical indicator test results.

• Inventory Distribution: Maintain precise inventory records, manage surgical case carts, and ensure sterile items are safely distributed to the Operating Room (OR).

Job Requirements

• Certification: Active national certification required (CRCST through HSPA or CSPDT through CBSPD).

• Experience: Minimum 1 to 2 years of recent, independent experience as a sterile processor in a hospital setting.

• Technical Skill: Thorough knowledge of AAMI, AORN, and HSPA sanitation, safety, and infection control standards.

• Life Support: Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
